Technical Information
Three Australian products containing Elderberry extract were compared to Nutrimedicine’s Elderberry BioComplex tablets. Samples were analysed on the HPLC using the Bilberry method.
All products sampled showed different quantities and expressions/extract ratios of Sambucus nigra. Elderberries are rich in flavonoids including anthocyanins. The anthocyanins cyanidin-3-O-glucoside and cyanidin 3-sambubioside are the major active constituents.
This comparison shows that the Nutrimedicine Elderberry BioComplex tablet is superior to the other products with respect to the active anthocyanins content.
